Performance Issues of WMNs by implementing Coordinator in IEEE 802.11 Networks

چکیده
The wireless networking is the current trend that most of the peoples that used and fastly grow in the world. The number of topologies has been used in this network and few are Star, Bus , Mesh etc. but the Mesh Topology was popular because the entire topology are self healing means the network still works even the nodes break or connection goes down. The motive of this paper has to become a node aware of macro mobility notifications. The macro mobility notification that would implemented on various nodes to access multiple access networks. This paper presents the mobility approach of 5x5 grid based network by implementing a specialized device called coordinator that can be routed the each packet from source to destination with a minimum distance. The coordinator also controls channels of each wireless station to minimize collisions and interferences also link down problem and then data transfer to every channel. This also solves the problem of longer delay and low communication range because of links can be break throughout the wireless networks (disadvantage of wireless networks) and the proposed network scenario by implementing coordinator can realize self organizing and maintaining the link that break /down. The result shows the effectiveness that scenario has opt in this paper using parameters like Throughput and E2E delay.

Wireless mesh networks: a survey
Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) consist of mesh routers and mesh clients, where mesh routers have minimal mobility and form the backbone of WMNs. They provide network access for both mesh and conventional clients. The integration of WMNs with other networks such as the Internet, cellular, IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.15, IEEE 802.16, sensor networks, etc., can be accomplished through the gateway and bri...

Many performance evaluations for IEEE 802.11distributed coordination function (DCF) have been previouslyreported in the literature. Some of them have clearly indicatedthat 802.11 MAC protocol has poor performance in multi-hopwireless ad hoc networks due to exposed and hidden nodeproblems. Although RTS/CTS transmission scheme mitigatesthese phenomena, it has not been successful in thoroughlyomit...
متن کاملContention- and Interference-Aware Flow-Based Routing in Wireless Mesh Networks: Design and Evaluation of a Novel Routing Metric
As the popularity of IEEE 802.11-based Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) grows, end users of these environments demand better performance and quality of service (QoS). However, the Medium Access Control (MAC) layer of the IEEE 802.11 standard was not initially designed to provide either multihop or QoS capabilities. Therefore, the performance of IEEE 802.11-based WMNs is not optimal. One approach t...
متن کاملReal-Time Communication Support in IEEE 802.11-Based Wireless Mesh Networks
The IEEE 802.11 family of wireless standards became the dominant solution for Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) due to its performance, low cost and fast deployment characteristics (Hartmann & Meister, 2008; Sgora, Vergados, & Chatzimisios, 2009). Along its increasing popularity, there was a demand for interconnection of several different devices in the network, sharing common services. Thus...
متن کاملInfrastructure-Based MAC in Wireless Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks
The IEEE 802.11 standard is the most popular Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol for wireless local area networks. However, in an ad-hoc environment, the Point Coordination Function (PCF), defined in the standard, cannot be readily used. This is due to the fact that there is no central authority to act as a Point Coordinator (PC). Peer-to-peer ad-hoc mode in the IEEE 802.11 standard only imple...
